I'm a multi-passionate creative who has enjoyed a 30-year career in the music industry. I continue to use my creative skills and connections to raise my voice as a champion for diversity and inclusion
Black History Month South
In my role as coordinator of Black History Month South I have been honoured to be able to help tell the stories of Black People in Southampton and to add my voice to champion and recognise the local black community.
As a child, I was adopted by a white family. I knew I was different from my brothers and sisters, but it just felt very natural to be part of that family. I was surrounded by love.
Growing up my mum was careful to prepare me for the struggles she knew I might face. Now, as a father myself, it has become my life's work to use my voice for positive change, so that no other parent may need to have those conversations with their child.
MUSIC & ME
My music career has spanned over 30 years. I was signed to Richard Branson's Virgin Records & Cardiac Records in NYC. I've supported top acts like Alexander O'Neal, Soul II Soul and Omar. I also performed to a tv audience of millions as lead vocalist alongside The London Community Gospel Choir.
My debut single One Nation was released in 1990 to critical acclaim followed by two more EPs Living free and Forgotten Man.
